Illustration is obviously a drawing, but it is also color. In this exercise, we suggest you practice creating four colorful pictures illustrating the four seasons. Each picture will be made in a square format of 15 x 15 cm.

It must contain an illustration representing an element characteristic of the season concerned (see below), and it will use in addition a selection of colors also in connection with the season concerned:

  • For spring: your colored harmony must evoke the “tonicity “and the” vitality “of this season. In terms of illustration, you could for example represent a butterfly, a flower, a bud …
  • For summer: you will use a hot / cold contrast, illustrating the heat of this season and the desire for freshness which often accompanies it. Your illustration could represent a bee, a swimming pool, a boat …
  • For the fall: you will work on a monochrome of fall colors. Your illustration could represent a mushroom, tree leaves, chestnuts …
  • For winter: you will use a gradient of cold blues and / or gray, with a few touches of bright colors if necessary. Your illustration could evoke a snowman, a mountain chalet, a polar bear …

The production technique is completely free (drawing, collage, painting, cutting of colored or textured paper, etc.). Your four visuals must however have a certain “family spirit”.
